Sierra Brashear, MA, and Molly McConnell, RYT 500, are both NAMA Certified Ayurvedic Practitioners and graduates of Alandi Ashram’s 2,000+ hour, National Ayurvedic Medical Association certified program.   • How is this Reset different from other cleanses or detox programs?

    Unlike other cleanses, which can be very harsh on the body, ultimately leaving you weaker than when you began, The Reset for Resilience is designed to enhance your strength and energy by offering your body deep nourishment. This is a lifestyle design program, revolving around a cleanse that actually tastes good and feels good while you’re doing it. You will feel nourished and satiated throughout your day, rather than hungry and depleted. Preparation is fast, easy and affordable, and you won’t ever be so hungry that you feel anxious or unable to function in your daily life. The intelligence of The Reset for Resilience is that it eases you into healthy and sustainable eating habits that will feel great in your body, while supporting a deeper relationship to self.

  • When is the best time to do the Reset for Resilience?

    Please join us for group cleanses in October and April of each year. Although an Ayurvedic cleanse is great throughout the year, it especially beneficial at the junction between seasons (Summer to Fall, Winter to Spring). It is also very supportive during potentially stressful moments of life transitions, whenever you need a quick reset, anytime you want to get digestion or nutrition back on track (i.e after the holidays), and when recovering from illness or surgery. The Reset for Resilience is designed to include just 5 days of committed cleansing, with a full 28 days of engagement with the process. For optimal results, make sure that you have enough time and space to commit to all the (luxurious) components of gentle cleansing, including a week of preparation beforehand and a week of mindfully transitioning afterward.

  • What will I be eating?

    In the first 9 days of preparation, you will simplify your diet to focus on fresh produce, whole grains, organic proteins and nourishing fats. During the 5 days of focused cleansing, you will enjoy Indian soups made from mung dal, spices and ghee, as well as warm broth, spiced apples and fresh juices. In the 7-day reintegration phase, you will slowly reintroduce foods by beginning with the easiest to digest and working toward more complex and rejuvenative foods in the fourth week. You will listen to your body along the way. We will guide you through every phase with easy to follow meal plans, recipe guides and checklists. Eating this way is an ancient method used to reset digestion — the foundation of radiant health — and to gently detoxify your entire body.

  • Are meals and supplies provided?

    Cultivate Balance provides the meal guides, recipes and shopping lists, but does not provide the food, herbs or optional self care tools. We do our best to have a low environmental impact, which means limiting the amount of packaging/shipping we do. We encourage you to access the freshest ingredients by sourcing them locally yourself. For those ingredients that are difficult to source locally, we provide you with access to an easy-to-order portal + discount to order everything you need. This also enables you to customize your meal plan to exactly what will feel best your body.

  • How long will my enrollment in this program last?

    Guided group programs run in the Fall and Spring each year. You will have access to this entire program for three months from the day the guided group program begins.

  • Do I need to take time off work to complete this Reset?

    Because this is a nourishing Reset, you will never be so hungry that you feel anxious or unable to function in your daily life, so you will be able to keep up with your personal responsibilities. So while it is possible to complete The Resilience Reset without taking time off work, we do find that the cleanse is more effective when participants have at least a few days to truly unplug and disengage from the incessant need to be productive. The cleanse portion of the Reset (Part 2) is five days — so if possible, plan for at least three of those days to be non-working. If that means utilizing two days of the weekend and taking one official day off work, that is great! The more you can enable yourself to truly rest during this Reset, the more resilience you will find on the other side.

  • Do I have to cut out coffee?

    We know, the coffee thing is hard — but it’s best if you can at lease reduce your caffeine intake. If you are currently drinking coffee every day, we recommend tapering down gradually during the preparation phase, which is the first nine days of the program in the case of The Reset. To do this, try cutting your regular coffee quantity in half, then in half again. Next, transition to a chai latte, mud wtr, maté beverage, cacao, or green tea for a couple days. Then, consider a caffeine alternative such as RASA original, mushroom coffee, or brahmi tea. We honor that cutting down on caffeine can be really challenging — trust us, we've been there! We hope this recommendation for tapering down offers a little more ease. If it’s not realistic for you to cut out caffeine and still meet the needs of your life, transition to green tea during the week of the cleanse.

  • Who is the Reset for Resilience for?

    This cleanse is for anyone in relatively stable health who desires a moment of reprieve and feels they could benefit from more lightness and clarity. People with all gender identifications are welcome and encouraged to participate. This cleanse is not recommended for those suffering from any sort of debilitating condition or extreme weakness, as the body will not have enough strength to engage in even gentle detoxification. This cleanse is also not for children under the age of 10, though they may certainly enjoy the nourishing recipes along with you.

  • What changed about this version of The Reset from the last?

    The Spring 2023 version of The Reset is that it is now 4 weeks long instead of 3, in order to provide more support in the process of rejuvenation and building an ongoing Ayurvedic lifestyle that integrates with your life and work. In addition, we are now offering a Custom Experience in which participants who purchase this add on will receive a weekly one-on-one consultation with either Molly or Sierra.

The 21-day Reset was excellent. It is such a great intro into dosha types, and foods and daily care that support each type. But most of all it walks you through (what initially looks overwhelming) information into daily, and time of day schedules to get a more personal understanding of the information. It was reassuring to see that most of the foods for my dosha type are actually personal preferences. However, there were also self-sabotaging foods that I will remove or limit to times of strong agni. The scheduling for food and self-care have been, and will be, especially helpful to my well-being. It became particularly evident that 'lack of consistency' in my daily schedule may be the most significant drain on my physical and mental health. (Ie. unintentionally skipping meals, and even care) And then the suggested times for rest, reflection and meditation are something I will allow greater space for in my ongoing schedule. My intent each day is to be more aware (throughout the day) of my connection to the Source of All Life (Love), and therefore more aware of our connection to each other, and to all creation. This reset program helped me to feel much more intentional about my meals, my routines, and my consumption overall. I was able to reflect much more on how food made me feel overall - without feeling depleted, and I was more in tune with how certain situations or input affected my own inner peace. However, when the reset was done, I did fall back into habits that didn’t serve my own inner peace (screen time, nightly wine, etc.) but now I feel like I have a foundation to get back into a ritual that is beneficial for me with this reset. I am definitely going to sign up for the next one in the spring!

This was my first cleanse EVER. Generally, I am extremely cautious about anything involving elimination diets for health reasons. Molly's reassurance and the description of the cleanse as nourishing instead of reductive sold me! I also loved the complete flexibility. I made a point to follow everything as closely as I could, but, as a teacher and horse trainer, life can be a bit hectic at times. Being able to watch recordings of virtual meetings, adjust timing/dates, and incorporate menu modifications allowed me to make time for authentic self-care, reflection, and physical activity. I highly recommend this cleanse - it's perfect for us busy bees and go-getters who tend to be more go than slow!
